Welcome to my Family History Site
I have been researching my family history since 1982 and these pages contain details of the surnames I am working on, some photos from the family albums, and some mini biographies of some of my direct ancestors.
I welcome contact with others researching my family lines and would be happy to share information and photos.
Designing websites has become an interest of mine and on the WWW link are the names of the currrent ones.

The Butcher & The Cook
In 1852 John Shepherd and Eliza Ryman, the butcher and the cook of the title, married in London and then took the momentous decision to leave behind their native land and make a hazardous voyage to Melbourne on the ship Plantagenet, arriving in 1853 to begin their new life.
This book relates the story of their forebears in the couple's home villages in Hertfordshire and Gloucestershire and their Appleyard, Major, Hicks and Farmer families. Their early days in the Colony are detailed and then the narrative follows Eliza's life after John's untimely death aged only 39. Their descendants now number many hundreds, and this book tells some of their stories too. $25 +P&P Email me on Contacts page for ordering information. |
